Napier & Blakeley Brisbane Office Closure for G20 Summit

The G20 Leaders Summit 2014 will be held in Brisbane on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 November. Approximately 12,000 visitors are expected to arrive in the city for the event and mass public protests are predicted.  The security operation for the G20 is the most significant in Australia’s history.

Security areas

Brisbane city will be divided into two specific areas:   

Restricted (blue)

  • The areas will be clearly defined
  • Delegates will be staying or working in these areas
  • Only authorised delegates, media and staff will be allowed access to these areas

Declared (red)

  • Directly outside restricted areas
  • Movement through declared areas will be unrestricted, unless motorcades are traveling on these roads

Brisbane office closure for the G20

Thursday 13 November – closed from 4pm.

Friday 14 November – closed all day
The greatest disruption is expected to occur between Friday 14 and Sunday 16 November. Friday 14 November has been declared a public holiday in Brisbane and the Napier & Blakeley office on Edward Street will be closed.
