We are delighted to announce that the businesses’ global greenhouse gas emissions  have been measured and offset, and we can now proudly consider ourselves as a carbon neutral organisation.

We partnered with highly respected Australian company Carbon Neutral to undertake the measuring process and having taken steps to firstly reduce our emissions, the remaining unavoidable footprint has been offset with the purchase of over 500 tonnes of carbon offsets.

The offsetting process occurs through carbon sequestration – a project involving the reforestation of non-productive farmland in Australia.  The replanting of mixed native Australian tree species not only helps in capturing carbon dioxide emissions but also aids in re-establishing habitats for native wildlife.

The majority of carbon credits purchased by Napier & Blakeley were drawn from the Yarra Yarra Biodiversity Corridor. The corridor is a high impact reforestation project that simultaneously delivers environmental, economic, social and heritage co-benefits.

While, we are immensely proud of the effort and investment required to make our organisation carbon neutral, we also recognise that this is the beginning of a journey for Napier & Blakeley. Work is already underway to measure, reduce and offset our operations for the future years to allow us to proudly remain as a carbon neutral organisation.
